Musa > Lesson 3

Lesson 3: Musa Kills a Man

“So he escaped from there, looking about in a state of fear. He said: ‘My Lord! Save me from the people who are Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrong-doers)!’”

Surah Al-Qasas, 28:21

A Dispute Between Two People

An Israeel man asked Musa for help during a dispute between two people — one from Bani Israel and the other a Qibty.

Musa intervened in the situation, and in the course of the dispute, he struck the Qibty. As a result, the man died.

Following this incident, suspicions were raised and the matter reached Firawn.

As the situation escalated, a man came running from the outskirts of the city to warn Musa. He said, “O Musa, indeed the chiefs and the leaders are coming for you. They are planning to kill you, so leave.”

Upon hearing this warning, Musa left Egypt and made his way towards Madyan, travelling north.
