Lesson 1: Sulaiman is Given Prophethood

“And Sulaiman inherited (the knowledge of) Dawud. He said: ‘O mankind! We have been taught the language of birds, and on us have been bestowed all things. This, verily, is an evident grace (from Allah).’”

Surah An-Naml, 27:16

Sulaiman Inherits Prophethood and Kingship

After the death of his father Sulaiman AS inherited prophethood and kingship from him. The wealth of the prophets is not inherited, it is given in charity to the poor and the needy.

Sulaiman AS was one of the blessings that Allah gave to prophet Dawud AS. They would judge justly in the conflicts of the people and sort out their disputes with wisdom.

The kingdom of Sulaiman AS stretched from Samaria in the north to Judea in the south. Part of present day Palestine/Israel.

Sulaiman AS continued his rule and prophethood in the way he had experienced his father ruling over Bani Isra’eel and guiding them.

Then Aisha said to them, "Didn't Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) say, 'Our (Apostles') property is not to be inherited, and whatever we leave is to be spent in charity?'" (Sahih al-Bukhari 6730)
